I'm Currently Feeling: | :( feel useless i hate how some people can make u feel so worthless
i had to recently appy for benefits as my old job wont pay any maternity leave and i have been told to stop working by midwife and doctors
and as im not with the baby's father anymore, but am trying so hard to do everything for baby and make take care of my health as i would feel so bad if anything happened to my little girl
but then my supposed friend tells me im no good, and i dont deserve a baby.
she also is preg, smokes still, drinks occasionally (none of which i do)
relys on everyone else to provide for her baby, she has 11 weeks left but has nothing ready :-/
sorry for posting this, i just needed to get it out as it has really upset me | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | that is so not true! You are not worthless!!! There is nothing wrong with applying for benefits when you rally need them! I have worked hard for 6 years and have just made my first benefits claim. I feel i deserve it! I know i wont be doing it for ever.
Why on earth would a supposed friend say that to you??
She needs to take a look in the mirror is she is drinking and smoking! |

I'm also not with my babys dad & on benefits. Sadly there's always someone who thinks that makes you pond life.
You'll probably 20 times the mother your friend can be. Ignore she, she's prob jealous as she can see how brill your doing despite your setbacks!!

| i can understand why this has upset you she has no right to judge you!
How come your employer wont pay you leave? They have to give a reason in writing not to do so...
I had to have time off work but because i live with my partner i didnt get any help but was told that of i was single you can apply for income support or even sick pay from the jobcentre.
You should also apply for sure start grant which gives you £500 to buy things for your baby. Also id take action to get support from the babies farther, if hes man enough to make a baby he can supprt it too
Good luck xx | | | | Status: Offline

Yeh i'm sure you're entitled to Maternity Allowance from the Job Centre as you've just got to show you've worked for at least 13 weeks out of the 66 weeks before bubs is due ( something like that neway lol )
N if you're claiming Income Support then yep you do get a grant
