well, had my usual check up of blood pressure and urine - didn't see a midwife and doctor like i normally do - just a doctor who could barely speak english.

my urine is fine - negative, so that is good.

my bp is up again to 132/90 - not so good.

HOWEVER, when the doc tried to measure me it was more than apparent she didn't know what she was doing. measuring tape was upside down and back to front (rather worrying i would say!).

She then tried to listen for beanies heartbeat and she found it eventually after trying various parts of my belly! it was sooooo faint (not loud like it normally is). i was getting really scarde and she could see this. there was a heartbeat but it was really faint. she said it could be the batteries on the doppler are low (eh?) or the way baby is lying. this didn't reassure me and now i am worried sick about beanie.

got home and phoned midwife but she wasn't there. spoke to a really nice midwife and she reckons the doc was just aiming the doppler in the wrong place. i am getting LOADS OF movements. midwife is coming out to see me twice next week so will get somebody who knows what they are doing.

If given a choice i would much rather have a midwife deliver my baby than a doctor.

its horrid when your appt doesnt go to plan isnt it

think positive....you are having loads of movement which is really good, they found the hb even better lol just cause it was faint doesnt mean naything is wrong they have moved into an obscure position or the placenta may be covering them etc...

try and stay calm youll be fine

Doctors are rubbish! Mine is anyway. I've only seen him twice since i've been pregnant, the last time was only a few weeks ago. He turned to me and said, wow your pregnant!!! I was like, durrr?!!!! Kinda hard to miss this mahoosive belly!

At least the midwives will be out to you next week and will be able to do the checks properly hun

doctors are crap. I had to see mine instead of MW last week and I was fuming! x
