When waters break...

Ok, what happened this morning never happened before! Husband and i had sexual intercourse early this morning and i just went all wet on him, was like some water or maybe urine went all over him, but we still continued our lil thing
But im a bit worried, hope it wasnt my waters that broke! But to be honest i am not feeling any pain or anything at all. Just minor back pain at times which is on and off.
I`m just wondering does everyone have a show before the waters break or it can happen that your waters can break anytime?
Do you necessary need to have contraction pains in order for your waters to break or your waters can break without any pain as well.
I`m so confused and i dunno how my birth will be, its so frustrating at this stage, slight thing that happens i just panic.
Like i dunno if i happen to be overdue when will MW ask me to come to hospital for a sweep and get induced?
After how many days overdue will MW call me? I have appointment on my due date which is next week thursday! If i didnt get my baby by that day, what will happen?

Can anyone me? Im so confused, it seems so complicated!!!!!!!

My waters broke, I had NO contraction pain, I had no prior show, but I did have a little bloody discharge after all the "gushing" stopped. My waters REALLY broke, there was no "I wonder if my waters broke"

If I were you, I'd call your midwife and get checked. There's some chance of infection the longer you go with broken waters.

But do you leak a lil bit afterwards or when waters break, its just a one off and thats it?

hi ya

id say go to the hosp or ring your mw, you need to get checked bab as you have to give birth within 24 or 48 hours of your waters breaking as you are at risk to infection which can be dangerous

some people have no contractions, no show or anything you sometimes dont!

I continued to leak until dd's head fully engaged.. about 12 hours.

If your baby's head was already engaged with a bubble of fluid at the top of his head you'll probably only leak a little fluid past that first little gush.

You don't have to give birth in that timeframe though a lot of hospitals wish to avoid liability by making a woman deliver in a certain timeframe.

I was lucky, I was allowed to labor naturally and was anticipated to labor 30-40 hours if I hadn't lost my noodle during my excruciating posterior labor and demanded an epidural.

Time from waters breaking to delivery: 27 hours

Normally you would continue to trickle a bit, but if you are at all worried, go get it checked. They will just do a swab and check you over. I had it done last week because I sneezed and gushed fluid all over the floor lol....turned out to be a kidney infection giving me a weak bladder lol The hospital were so good about it, it was so worth doing.
