To all yous girls who have been through this before what are after pains? I was just going through some old threads about Braxton Hicks and After Pains where mentioned a few times normally in conjunction with breastfeeeding and how awful they where [worse than labour]?

I had contractions the first few days I was breastfeeding and they weren't that bad at all. They did feel like labour pains but VERY early mild ones. I think someone might be trying to scare you saying it's worse than labour!

Afterpains are your uterus contracting back to its prepregnancy size. Breastfeeding helps get it back to size faster. I don't recall it being worse than labor but I didn't have any pain relief last time so maybe thats why some say it's worse?
