good news, bad news (possibly) and just plain weird news...

well:

Good News: It's definitely a girl!! baby Lily, due on 23rd August.

Bad news (possibly): I went for the secon ultrasound at Leeds General yesterday, and after a 2.5 hour delay, she confirmed that there was only one visible kidney.. although again, she stated that it seemed to be working fine, and would cause no problems to the pregnancy or the birth.

Plain weird news: Out of interest, she scanned my kidneys... the one on the right is working fine, no problems...
The one on the left appears not to be working.. (only slightly, if at all) so now it's me that needs to be scanned by a specialist for the operationing of my kidney..

Well... If I managed nearly 30 years, without even knowing about it.. the only concern I have now is that if Lily needs a transplant in later life, I wont be able to give her one of my kidneys...

Fingers crossed she never has any medical problems tho..

Em

Aw! Maybe it's something due to genetics? I know alot of babies that are born with only one kidney and they all seem to not even notice, I'm sure she'll be fine.

It's reassuring that they're aware of it. If they didn't seem concerned about it, I'm sure everything will be fine !!
