I'm a bit embarrassed to ask this really but how do I know if I've lost my plug???! What exactly am I looking for and does everyone lose the plug before labour starts or can it happen at the same time??

TMI bit coming up... I've had a fair bit of discharge and there was a kind of gooey patch at one point and I wondered if that was it or part of it but I really don't know and don't want to ask my MW as it feels too gross to ask anyone about it face to face lol

Ok in that case I don't think what I had was my plug at all
It def wasn't that big - although I guess it could have been a part of it, I just don't know!

I lost my plug before i went into labour and it wasent like the pic above at all.

It started on the sunday before xmas (didnt know it was my plug) and all it was lots of sticky discharge, had to put a pad on cos there was loads.
Then after lots of sale shopping on the boxing day that night at 9pm i had lost some more but now was mixed with blood. The blood was red, also turned pink and brown. So all kinds of colours of red.
I rung the labour ward immediatly to inform them for my notes and they confirmed it was. Next day i had my little girl!

You will def know if its your bloody show. They say if you lose your bloody show labour should start with in 48hours.
If its clear it can re grow and sometimes happens in next 2wks.
I also had her at 38wks.
