I'm Currently Feeling: | How much time you have after the water broke? This is my first baby, so i have to ask. After the water broke, how much time i have to get ready before heading to the hospital?
I'm about 20 minutes away from the hospital ( no traffic ) and just in case i don't have my hospital bag ready. Or maybe i need to shave down there first and shower or so
I don't have to get in the car right away,right? | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | i think it really depends how often you are having contractions. With my first child my waters broke at 8:20 in the am and i didn't have him until 5:10 the same night. Then with my other child I was already in active labor before my waters broke(at the hospital). hope that helps a little. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i was told to go within about two hours to the hospital, if they break in a trickle you may have more time tho, if they break and are green or smell then you should go sooner to the hospital. If you are already having contractions and they break, go right away coz u could be in for quick labor..
at least this is what i have learned. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | We went and looked around the hospital the other day and they said if your waters break then try to get there within an hour or so, especially if you have no contractions as there is a risk of infection. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Depends on the person I think. I know someone who had a 'dry labour' because her waters broke over 24 hours before.
My son was born 20mins after my waters broke and I live 20mins from hospital. So I am some what worried lol. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was told to go straight away. They check you over to see how dilated you are. If you haven't dilated they may send you home but if you are then they'll keep you in because of the risk of infection.

I'm Currently Feeling: | all depends on the individual i think, my waters broke at 434 am i had maddy at 939am, my friends waters broke 24 hours before she had her baby and then others break during labour or have to be broken, its going to be a decision you have to make at the time im afraid but due to the risk of infection id go straight in if they break at home!!
good luck

I'm Currently Feeling: | When my waters broke my contractions did not become very strong so they gave me 24 hours before I had to have an emergency c-section |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My waters went and then the 2nd contraction after I was pushing and Pierre was born 15 or 20 mins later so it really depends on the individual. Some peoples waters break way before it gets to that point. |
