Housing benifit?

Does anybody in here receive this benifit? I want to know whether I qualify if I reduce my hours at work after my maternity leave.....I dont think I could work 43hours a week and come home and enjoy my baby enough!! I have a shared ownership mortgage and ive checked I can qualify for the rent and service charges subject to income but i cant find an estimate anywhere!? I will earn around 12000 on part time salary and child care costs are 120.00 per week, does anybody have any advice or know of an online calculator?! Thanks in advance!!! xx

The best place to go to is your local council website. some of them have an online calculator, but every local council is different so i wont be able to help i am afraid! If your website doesnt have a calculator, it will have a number to ring and they are usually very helpful!

Good luck with it!

Have a look at this site:

http://www.entitledto.co.uk/

It allows you to work out entitlements to all benefits and tax credits, including housing and council tax benefits.

I could tell you about normal housing benefit but I think it works different if you're shared ownership? I have no idea
