thanks, yeh i never had bnb last time round so i know i have this forum 2 keep me going and sometimes its better when you dont actually know people to share problems with. i had people coming round all times of the day last time and my oh was working alot so i was left tired but entertaining pl! i have asked pl 2 stay away for a couple of wks and we will visit them once we have sorted ourselves out so im hoping that, that will nip it in the bud really, you only have 14 days 2 go!! im on 20 so right behind you!! xxxx

I'm scared of them cutting me and the stitching too but I'm sure it'll be the last thing on my mind when the time comes. I'm also VERY worried about the baby blues because I'm really low at the moment to the point I'm crying everyday and feeling really lonely, so I've asked my midwife about getting some help now to minimise the risk or help with baby blues. xx

I can't remember it being sore when they had to cut me, I do though remember it being a bit nippy when they gave the local anaesthetic for the stitching.

The only thing I'm scared about is the pain, I am such a wimp and can so remember how much pain I had the last time.

Well I heard that it's way better to just rip than get an episiotomy.. I'm sorry, I'm really no help here. anyway though.

After having three children, i dont think you are even going to remember if they do or dont cut you, you are just going to be over joyed cos your baby is here, you are on such a high.

Lol! I wasn't aware of it either till they did it to me! You probably wouldn't be aware of them doing it most of the time tbh as I've only got 1 other friend that knew what I was on about when I mentioned it! I think you're just that preoccupied with little one x

i thought this too and then i asked my friend who is a nurse and she said no thats definately not true.
there are a few girls who are nurses on here so maybe one of them will pop by and give us insight into that one..

if your left to rip it can be ALOT worse, an episiotomy basically reduces the damage caused if you were to rip it can be 3rd degree and sometimes need surgery to repair so an episiotomy is much better.

I had one with my daughter and you really dont care by that point, your concentrating more on the contractions! I seem to remember the anestetic hurt more than the actual cut, you feel the needles sting but you dont feel them cut you or sticch you up atall becuase your completely numb!

I'd forgot all about being felt up the bum to check the stiches yes very strange an unexpected hehe.

You will be absolutly fine instinct takes over, your body does what its meant to do and you feel damn proud of yourself afterwards for it! xxxxxxx

I'm most scared, make that absolutely terrified, of being sick during labour. Its my absolute phobia, I do ANYTHING I can to avoid being sick no matter what the situation and I can only think how awful it would be if I vomit during labour - am terrified of that! The pain and everything comes way down my list of fears and I have a crap pain threshold lol so that shows how scared of vomiting I am x
