I'm Currently Feeling: | Pre Eclampsia ***UPDATED Pg 2*** Hi all
Well I'm just back from my 38 week antenatal and have been told that I have protein in my urine and my blood pressure is up. As well as that I've been having a few headaches lately and eyes have been a bit blurry at times, which I thought was down to not having got new contact lenses for ages, but MW has said that she's a little concerned that it could be the start of pre eclampsia and has arranged an appointment at antenatal assessment unit at the consultant led hospital for me tomorrow. I've got to have PET bloods taken whatever they are - does anyone know?
Am feeling quite worried for little one - just want baby to be safe and well, am bit upset at the moment too
When its caught early is pre eclampsia ok? Will baby be ok??
A worried Laura xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Everything should be just fine. You're full term already and they have medications they can use to control PE during labor. If there is a problem, its better you know asap. They might induce you but even that should be fine since you are already full term. Try not to worry! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had the same exact symptoms as you. Vision was blurry, headaches were increasing in conjunction with pregnancy induced hypertension as well as protein in urine..which is why I was induced at 39+1 weeks. I guess it wasnt full blown pre-eclampsia because I was closely monitored...So hang in there!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Try not to worry hun. I started developing pre-eclampsia symptoms at 35-ish weeks and my baby boy is FINE!!! If you do a BnB search on pre-eclampsia, I posted an extremely long list of things you can do to improve/prevent PE (I don't want to bore you if you don't want the info. Or let me know and I can post on here too). Try not to worry though, because stress is the worst thing you can do. As for the test, I'm not exactly sure what that is. But with my PE they did several tests- one 24-hour urine test where you had to collect your pee for a full 24- hours (Yuck) and then several blood tests to see how my kidney and liver function was. I will tell you that even when my numbers were bad at the MW with their little dipstick, by bloods and 24-hour urine always showed it wasn't as bad as they thought. So hang in there- I'm here if you have any questions or just need support. I know it can be scary because they start talking about how you can have a seizure and stuff like that- but that is really, really rare and only if your PE gets super bad. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thankyou hun - I'm just so worried! I don't worry for me but just for my little one, feeling quite emotional about things now. Am sure I'll pick up and stop worrying so much once I know for sure though. x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I agree with the ladies above as well. It's good that they are looking into and will be able to keep an eye on it. You are already 38 weeks which is a good thing as well. |
