38 week app today! **UPDATE/CHUNKY!! pg 1**

I have my 38 week appointment today with my midwife at the surgery so i have to hobble down there for 3.45 on my fat trotters. But my 36 weeks appointment wanted to come to my home....surely she got that mixed up??

anyway at my 36 week i was supposed to have bloods taken etc but she didnt do them, maybe she will do them today? fingers crossed.
She is an oldish midwife with about 30 years experience and is lovely but she never measures me either but now im worried cos im huge!!

Babble babble sorry im trying to get to the point.
What else do i expect at this appoinment? as this could be my last before LO arrives

Mybe to get a full blood count and Rh antibody screen which I got at 34 weeks, that was the last bloods I got taken.
If she was supposed to come to your house it was maybe to discuss your birth plan, which ours do at 36 weeks. I don't know but have a good appointment anyway. x

I have a chunky baby!!

Ok so i just got back from my 38 week appointment and i saw a different midwife as mine is on holiday.Went through everything with her, aches and pains are normal etc, carpal tunnel in fingers normal, huge trotters normal blah blah blah.
There was a little sugar in my urine but she said at this stage that is quite normal.
my BP was 120/80 which she said is a little high as i have always been 120/70.
LO is "well engaged" but she didnt give me any measurements as the skin on the bottom of my bump is so sore its like getting a chinese burn if you touch it or if i go to sit down, she said there is swelling there which is a sack of fluid....nice!
Anyway baby heartbeat fine although in my notes she has put "HLSA" ? not sure if im reading her writing right or not? any ideas?

I said that my midwife doesnt measure my bump but guessed at between 7-8lb as there is a lot of fluid.......the midwife then said "you have a fair amount of fluid but this is one tall baby!!and pretty chunky too!! and i guess between 8-9lb"

ARGH!
Bf is 6 foot 5 and im the shortie in my family at 5 foot 8 so im guessing thats why but OMG im scared now!!

No idea about the HLSA, sorry.

I'm 5'4" and was told Tuesday my LO will probably be 8 1/2 lbs but DD was 8lbs and I did fine with her- no drugs and no tearing so don't worry too much. Your body can handle your LO. Glad you are both doing well!

I'm glad all is well. No idea what HSLA means hun, sorry.

My partner's 6'5" too. I'm 5'11". Mikey was 21 inches long and they told me at my 20 week scan this baby is going to be long too which is scary.

They don't estimate weight here which is a shame. I'd like to know if this one will be smaller or bigger than Mikey.
