Do I bring it to the hospital with me?

Depends on how long you are going to be there.

If it's just a few hours or overnight, I wouldnt' bother. Even if it was a couple days, milk doesn't usually come in for 48-72 hours after birth.

It depends on what your plan is. If you are planning to breastfeed, then no- because the baby will be eating constantly. If you are planning to pump and feed (and not nurse directly) then yes (although many hospitals also have them available, I think it's just easier to get comfortable with your own and have staff there to help if you have problems with it). Even if you are planning to do the pump and feed, I would recommend you try to nurse directly for a few days as milk generally does not come in as well with exclusive pumping. Nursing for a few days can get the milk going and then you could switch to pumping.

My hospital had pumps available for moms. They actually advised me to pump the colostrum and give it to Erica in a dropper since she was having trouble latching. I was in the hospital for 4 nights, and my milk didn't come in until the day I came home.

That's what I was thinking. If the baby struggles to latch on, then at least I can pump. I think I'll leave it at home then if DH needs to go get it, he can. Or maybe I'll just throw it in the car so if it's needed, it's right there.

If you plan on breast-feeding then no. If you do breast-feed, I wouldn't pump for 2-4 weeks?

I read about a girl who's LO had trouble latching on her right breast and it ended up all full and sore and she really could have done with her breast pump so she regretted not having it to hand, on reading that it made me decide to take it with me just incase best to have to much stuff than not enough!
