I'm Currently Feeling: | I felt something tear!!!! On Sunday morning I was in bed, asleep, lying on my left side and woke up and went to roll over onto my back so I could get up. However, as I started to roll over, I felt something rip inside me just under my bump on the left hand side, kinda just above the crease where your leg meets your body (if that makes sense?!?).
It was excruciatingly painful and I really felt something ripping... I couldn't move for about an hour (or rather I daren't move!!) and I almost expected to look down and see like a huge bruise where something could be bleeding inside. But luckily, there's nothing there (Leigh had a good look for me!)
I rang the hospital for advice, and they said it sounded like I tore a muscle and not to be too worried, just have warm baths and paracetamol.
But ever since, my whole stomach gets really quite painful and uncomfortable for an hour or so at a time and then eases off. I had to ring the midwife the other day aswell as I have been getting period like pains for about a week or so now too, and she said unless it's "regular" (in which case, call the hospital) not to be too worried, but to keep a look out for UTI symptoms.
Well, seeing as I wont be seeing my MW for another week (as she only works at my practice every other Tuesday morning), I think I'm gonna try and get an appt with my GP tomorrow, as this stomach pain is getting me down.
Has anyone else ever felt that ripping sensation? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | OUCH. I've felt it, but it's up higher on my, right in the middle of my bump, on the left side. My doc said it was just the round ligament stretching a LOT...hurts like a...well...it HURTS. Feel better! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Well, the pain started to get really bad last night, so I've managed to get a cancellation appointment with the GP at 10am today!
Should be interesting, as the last time I saw him he was trying to tell me that my pelvic pain was "just normal pregnancy discomfort".... let's see what he thinks to my crutches!!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | goodluck hun, don't let your doctor give you any shit about your pain being "normal" its clearly not. However if you have torn a muscle there is not much that can be done apart from taking painkillers and resting so you begin to heal.
Feel better soon xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Please dont let the Dr fob you off with normal pregnancy issues.
2 weeks after having me my mum stepped off a chair funny and in the same place you are describing she had a crunching/tearing noise. (She descibes it as if you are taking/ripping a leg off a chicken) and for almost 30 years has had major problems with it.Some days is excruciating and can hardly walk still.
First they said muscle then over the years they blamed "wear and tear" nonsense but since finally getting xrayed only a couple of years ago they have found a bit of her pelvis chipped off and is now twisted which has affected her spine and one leg is longer than the other.
Not trying to scare you but make sure they investigate thoroughly and get an xray after bubs is born if it is no different. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Well, that was funny!!! He took one look at me on my crutches and burst out laughing!! When I told WHY I was on crutches, he simply said "I've never seen a pregnant woman on crutches before!" FFS, he's only been qualified almost 40 years!!!!
So I explained about all the period pains I've been having the last couple of weeks and the "tearing" pain from the weekend, and all he said was "look... you're pregnant... it's all par for the course, you're just going to have to get used to it!"
Now from anyone else, I'd say yep, fair enough... but seeing as he was sooooo wrong about my pelvis, and the fact that he's a dithering old sod at the best of times, I'm not 100% convinced!
Oh well, I see my midwife on Tuesday. I'll just have to wait and see what she says then! |
