This is a really stupid question

How do I know if Im in real labour or not?

Ive posted before that Ive been getting contractions for the past few days and they keep getting regular then stopping.

At the minute I think they're probably about 10 mins apart (Im timing them now with that website thingy) but I don't want to have to treck to hospital to be told to leave again... what should I do? How late can I leave it? Because if the last few days are anything to go by then it'll end in an hour or so.

I feel like such a muppet! Ha!

Well, I watched those videos that Margerle had given a link to last night and what was being said on there was at certain points towards the end of pregnancy you'll experience things like menstrual cramps, backache and pelvic pressure at different times, but........if you get all 3 at the same time then you are in early labour. She also said that most hospitals follow the 5-1-1 rule, i.e. contractions 5 minutes apart lasting for 1 minute and have been like that for 1 hour, before they like you to go in.

Thank you, thats very helpful

I feel like such an idiot, we rang MIL and she said to ring the hospital but I would feel like a proper idiot telling them I wasn't sure if I was in labour or not! lol
