No clue how long they make you stay in our hospital. My understanding is whenever it is convenient for the pediatrician to 'release' baby. I hope to God my stay is less than 24 hours. I detest hospitals. EVEN the swanky new birth centers .

Ugh, I hate hospitals too. I don't even want to think about what trouble my cats and dog are going to get into while I'm not here all day to watch them, LOL.

I explained what it was and she said its not offered. I know it works great for me when I have dental cleanings done. I really hoped it was at least an option for birth here. The US is so backwards

WOW 6 hours? Even for a regular birth here you stay 2 nights, 3 days! For my c-section I was there for 5 days! Maybe you can ask your m/w about switching hospitals? I wouldn't want to have to change hospitals during labor because you want an epi. And it probably would be too late by that point. Its all up to you tho hun, I dont know about pain relief since I had a section, but girls here swear by the epidural. Good luck!
