As far as I know gas & air isn´t available over here and you have to pre-book an epidural and hope the anaesthetist is on duty when you´re there!!!

I´m gonna pre-book an epidural (just in case!) and hope for the best.

Here in Spanish hospitals they get you in and out asap I think. So if I had the baby at 9 in the morning, I could probably expect to be home for dinnertime as long as everything was ok. I think if I had it at night, I´d have to wait overnight for the morning Dr to see me then send me home. Not sure.

I wish they'd let us go home that early. At my hospital you have to be in at LEAST 24 hours after baby is born, and the pediatricians will NOT release a baby less than 24 hrs old.

Pregnancy books and websites mainly. The Bounty website is quite informative.

We made our decisions based on our parentcraft classes and what info I had from my midwife.

That's how it is here at the hospital this one will be born at. I also asked my MW about gas and air and she didn't even know what I was talking about

'gas and air' over here is 50% nitrous oxide 50% O2 (oxygen)... laughing gas as it is more commonly known. You might mention it to her again and see if she knows it by these names.
