My MW told me a week or so ago that she would expect my baby to come any time from 38 weeks (which is tomorrow!) and she said she would be very suprised if I went overdue. But when Ive told people this they've always sounded really suprised and said I'm still carrying far too high and he doesn't look like he's coming anytime soon... what do you think?



I won't be too gutted if you's don't think he's going to be early because I've prepared myself to go overdue anyway. Was just wondering

Have you got a pic of you a couple weeks ago? Might be easier to see if you have dropped slightly. But I would say you're not that high now.

I would say you have dropped slightly as you've gotten bigger, but you are deffo still high up. But things can drastically change over night.

Is the head engaged any?

I wouldn't say you are way up high, there is a downward slope in your bump from your chest, it's not like your still all round at the top.
We've not long to go anyway xx

Only 4/5ths engaged.

I know its not long, 4 weeks max. I can wait (as long as I don't keep getting blimmin stretchmarks!). I just wasn't sure how she could tell I was going to be early just by feeling his head.

I think she probably said that because with the baby's head being low on the cervix, that pressure helps it efface and dialate. Having said that, my LO's head is SUPER low, and I was still not dialated as of Wednesday, and my baby engaged really early, at around 31-32 weeks. I now have that, oh my god, it is going to fall out kinda feeling, but I have no hopes of this baby coming early, it wil come when it does.

Well I don't have that feeling with him at all. I feel the same as I have done all the way through so he probably isn't very low.

I can tell he'll be lazy like his dad

Like I say, Im not bothered about him being early, he'll come when he's good and ready, but I just couldn't work out why she'd said to expect him early when she hadn't done an internal or anything. Hmm.

Matt is getting impatient on the other hand.

Things can drastically change as with Faith I was 4/5th engaged at 36 weeks the next week at 37 weeks I was 1/5th engaged and she came 5 days later at 38 weeks! x
