Low amniotic fluid

I had a growth scan (36wks +2)today which showed baby had less than the ammount of fluid that she should around her. SHe was showing up a healthy weight (6lbs 4oz) I have been booked in for 2 scans one a week and 4 appointments to moniter baby 2wice a week, my question is, the midwife wrote on my notes that the fluid was "below the 3rd centile" does anybody know the extent to how low it is? Im really worried they told me to keep an eye on babies movement and wether im leaking or not. If I go back next week and babies fluid is even lower, is it possible that they could induce me?? Thanks xx

It is possible Steph. I know Charlotte here has very very low fluid, and they will probably be inducing her early. Have a look through the treads and you can see what she has written about her low fluid.

i have virtually no amniotic fluid and the specialists told me that this is not a problem because of how far along in my pregnancy I am, and you are further ahead, so i would imagine it wouldn't be a problem for you either. They just monitor that the baby continues to grow properly.

The only reason i am having to deliver early is because my baby needs surgery on his kidneys asap, before it gets worse. But low amniotic fluid isn't the reason.

Just make sure you are careful with your bumpy because it means he doesn't have much protecting him xx

I had low fluids almost my whole pregnancy. I know the further you go the less fluid you have because the baby it growing.

I was told to do nothing. Just hang out on the couch and watch tv and drink water.... about a gallon a day.... which was very hard at first but I soon got very use to it.

I'm sure since you only have 4wks left (maybe sooner) its nothing really to worry about. My fluids where coming up low at like 21wks.
