I cant hurt buba by poking him can I?!

Last night we could see LO had his bum or head stuck right out on one side. So DB was havign a feel and pressed on that side and it hurt me! It only hurt when he pressed but we paniced that we'd hurt baby!!! LO was quiet for a few minutes afterwards and we were so worried!
DB was feeling with the flat of his hand/ fingers not one big poke!!

He has mvoed since and while he hasnt been super active he has wriggled about and had plenty of gentle movements. No big massive ones, but lots of soft ones.

But I want to check your opinions - we cant hurt LO can we?!! By having a feel about? It wasnt any harder than the doc does with his scanning....

I think we were both just so scared!!

I donīt think you can hurt your LO like that. Judging by the way my Doc presses on my bump and wiggles it around when I have a scan, it canīt be doing my little one any harm.

I was told by the midwife at my antenatal course last week, that the amniotic fluid protects them loads, so we didnīt need to worry about pressing on our stomachs or rolling onto them in the night etc.

Hope that helps

when you say when you push onto the bump it hurts you, i know how you feel some times when i push on my belly its really sore, must be how they are laying or something.

i always poke about and the other day my dad said stop poking LO you will hurt it but when i went for my midwife apointment last week she pushed so hard onto my belly to feel baby.
hubby hasnt been with me to midwife before as he cant get time off work but when we got out of midwife he said to me 'gosh she pushes hard on your belly, doesnt she?'

i wouldnt worry about hurting your LO

I doubt either of you would poke your LO hard enough to hurt. They are pretty well protected. I poke/tickle my LO's feet all the time when it shoves them out my right side. I love interacting with my baby this way, I think it is good for them, stimulation and such. It will be the one thing I miss the most once I have my baby.

I used to poke Josh all the time while he was in there... I would even shake my belly a bit with my hands to get a reaction from him sometimes. He turned out just fine !

I swear my midwife sqeezes Juniors head pretty hard, so I doubt having a prod around will do any harm. I always prod my LOs feet when they stick out.
