I'm Currently Feeling: | The day you give birth will be both the scariest and the happiest day of your life, and that being said both fear and happyness are normal.
You can do it, don't ever doubt yourself. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | They don't call it labor for nothing love! It is going to be freaking hard work. But remember it is only one day, and no matter how bad, we can all get through one day. You body is going to make the most amazing cocktail of hormones to get you through you labor. I found this article that describes each hormones and what it does, it is super cool. I have to say, our bodies ROCK! Don't get me wrong, I am not looking forward to the pain, and I do worry that I will lose it and freak and beg to be taken to the hospital. But overall, I want this challenge, I want to see what my body can do, I want that amazing oxytocin high that comes with a drug free birth. I told my DH to just remind me of the bliss when I start withering. http://www.sarahjbuckley.com/article...atic-birth.htm | | | | Status: Offline

You can do it! I'd reccomend pethedine - if it's anything like where we are where you are, it comes combined with an anti-sickness drug - really it was after my pethedine shot that the sickness went away - didn't do much for the pain but it helped me to chill out and took the sickness away so it all seemed just so much more manageble after that - pleasant, even! Also it wore off just in time for the birth (which really wasn't painful so I didn't need any pain relief for that bit) so I was completely clear headed for the birth and could take in and remember everything that went on
Good luck, Toria. You'll be fine x | |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Its normal to be scared. I think everyone is even a little nervous about it.
Me? Well, Im bricking it! lol I have the same concerns as you.
It sounds REALLY stupid but I watched this Derren Brown programme the other day about the power of positive thinking, and Ive decided that thats the way Im going to get through it. Keep thinking I can do it and I will.
Thats the theory anyway.
The worst thing is, I know on a sensible level you know that you can do it, but you wont be able to tell yourself that until it's happened and you've proved the doubting bit in your head wrong.
But Im sure you will be fine

I'm Currently Feeling: | im scared too, and starting to get more scared as i get closer. I just know its going to be painful and really hard but like everyone said it will pass. my biggest fear is that im stubborn as a mule so i might refuse the epidural just because i want to be a hero, its so dumb i know but im totally one to do something like that! im also scared because of the golfball on my baby's heart which is more than likely nothing, but i know im gonna think about it during labor and its gonna make it more difficult for me. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | What i found when i was in labour last time is that something just kind of takes over, like a determination to ensure your child arrives safetly. If the pain is too much then yes an epidural can help and what you have to remember is that hundreds of thousands of women have been through it and survived.
Im going back for a second go! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | One day I'm freaking out like you are now Toria, the next day I'm calm about it, emotions are so up and down. I honestly don't think we are being stupid for being afraid, its a big thing we have to go through, but I just keep telling myself that if so many other people can do it everyday, I should damn well be able to do it. I actually get cross with myself !
I find what helps calm me down is to just go look at the nursery, go look at all the cute clothes I will get to dress him in soon, I can't wait to see what he looks like in all his adorable little outfits. | | | | Status: Offline
