I'm not sure what the SN is for....I think it's an antibiotic for their eyes. I've read that it can hinder the early bonding process though, since they can't really see through the goop.

My hospital only gives it through injection, so that's what I'm going with. I think the research done with the injection was quite poorly done, which is why midwives don't advise against the injection.

Neither of these were done to my daughter at the birthing center I gave birth at with my first but since we have to go to a hospital this time we're opting to postpone eye drops for a couple of hours and will be getting erythromycin eye treatment instead of silver nitrate.

My MW hasn't asked about vitamin K preferences. I will add that to my list of questions for next week. I'd prefer oral if it is necessary. I don't want my LO poked and prodded anymore than is absolutely necessary.

i got told by my midwife that the doctors/midwifes prefare to do it with the needle because if it is given orally then if baby is sick it all comes back up an then they have to have the injection anyways.. so i think il be optin for the injection for bump saves the hassle of him goin through gettin it twice x

I was going to do the erythromycin eye stuff, but I'm really allergic to it, so...who knows if LO will be too. It causes deafness in my family if taken orally...don't wanna know what it would do if put into eyes.
