Doctors appointments

That's right more than one Been so busy lately I haven't really had much time to post about the last week or so. Last Wednesday I went in for my appt. and to get my glucose test done. The glucose test wasn't so bad but since I hadn't eaten since 9 in the morning (test was at 1:30 or so) I got sick. Luckily I made DH go to the appointment with me in case this happened. Doctors office was behind so I didn't get done with everything until 3:30 where we went and ate a very late lunch/early dinner (I ate again at 8 that night ). Everything was good, BP and weight gain (didn't put on another ten pounds thank goodness). Anyways because they hadn't looked ahead I had to go back to the doctor this week (yesterday) to get my shot because I'm Rh negative and get more blood taken. So went in yesterday morning, waited around an hour to see the nurse and have her tell me my glucose test came out fine but I have to start taking an iron supplement because my iron was a little on the low side and weigh me, she than sent me down for the bloodwork and told me to come back in three hours for the injection. So I went and ate lunch, did some shopping, and went back to wait another 30 minutes for the darn injection. But it's done and I don't have to go back for another three weeks. On a side note the nurse didn't write down what iron supplement I'm supposed to take and when Stan went to the pharmacy last night the pharmacist didn't know what he was talking about so I had to call the office this morning, hopefully she told me the right thing and I can pick up the tablets tonight.

Good news about your GD test. Sounds like a lot of running around- glad you can relax for a few weeks!

Hi Vickie!

Glad appointment went well. You are nearly 30 weeks, how exciting!!

I am on iron tablets as well as I am slightly anaemic. They do make you have more energy but watch out for constipation. Also they turn your poo greeney-black!

I was so happy that I'd avoided having to take iron supplements guess that's what this gets me. I'm also going to have to watch when I take them because I also take calcium pills and I've heard that they shouldn't be taken together

Vicki, my MW told me that it is normal for the iron level to drop from about 28 weeks. It should come back up from about 32 weeks. So hopefully that will happen for you, it did me.

Thanks! I really hope so. It wasn't that low, was 109 and the nurse told me she'd prefer it at 115, so I'm not too concerned about the levels, just worried about what the pills are going to do to my digestive system
