Turning Baby and C Section Questions

When is the last point in the pregnancy that midwifes will try and turn baby around. She had been lying feet down (dont know correct term used) for weeks now although she turned around on her own a few days ago then turned back again.

If she doesnt turn round again, can I request a C Section and for those who have had a C Section before what is it like, are you in alot of pain afterwards and how long do you have to stay in hospital.

Sorry for all the questions I have never had a breech baby before and all three boys were natural and quick labours.

I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon with my midwife for my 30+4 week check, but wasnt sure if its too soon to ask about the possibility of C Section if still breech.

I think 30 weeks is early, my midwife said they don't tend to worry unless they are still breech at 36 weeks onwards, and then they'll scan and suggest a c section. She told me this only because my baby was breech at about 32 weeks and he's turned himself round. You've got plenty of time yet

I had a c-section with my last baby and it took me longer to heal then from my natural birth. After a couple of days I didn't need pain meds but it did hurt to nurse with the baby on my tummy I would suggest the use of a bobby pillow if you are nursing

Thought 30 weeks was a bit early but wasnt sure. I am totally paranoid at everything pregnancy related now as I have a high chance of premature labour again. I went into premature labour at 29 weeks with my youngest son.

Thanks

Hey hun...30 weeks is too early...from 34 weeks you should get some advice or possible a sheet of paper telling you which exercises to do which will help you little baby turn to the right position...(i did)...then i went to my 36 week appointment where the next day they sent me for a scan...luckily his head was down...Hope that helps...if you have concerns just ask your midwife hun, its your best bet

Since you have a history of going into premature labour it might be different, otherwise you'd have to wait until about 35 or 36 weeks.

My son was breech, and the day I went in for an induction (which was his due date), they offered to do an inversion to turn him...so technically, it is never too late (though due to risk, some hospitals won't do an inversion). But he had been head down the whole 10 months and flipped to breech the day before his due date- so again, don't give up. There are exercises you can do. And some docs/midwives are also comfortable delivering a baby breech, especially if it's not your first. I would avoid a c-sec if possible- I ended up with one and they generally stink. So I would discuss all these options with your midwife.
