Midwife Appointment 2moro... C-Section possible

At my last midwife appointment our baby was lying in the 'oblique' position. Since then i feel shes moved into a 'transverse' position which is even worse.

2moro is my 37 week midwife appointment and im going to bring up the subject of c-sections. If the baby is transverse they will have to do a c-section anyway because she is too big to turn around at this point, if she is still in the oblique position they tend to say 'wait until labour starts' and then see if she flips into the correct position. my problem with that is that after my waters broke my labour with Rhys was only 2.45min long and there was no time for an epidural or any other pain relief.. if my labour is shorter this time and the baby enters the birth canal quickly and in the breech position then i could be looking at giving birth to a breech baby... not my idea of fun.

So im really gonna push for a c-section... i know its not ideal but i want my baby to be safe and i dont want a breech birth.

Good luck with your appointment! I wouldn't usually say a c section is a good thing, but if you labour quickly then it's probably a good idea.

Although I do hope your LO is head down!

Definately bring it up tomorrow. I hope though that she's not transverse. I suppose all will be revealed, good luck tomorrow. xx

Hi Tezzy - I went through the same issues - the c-section is booked for May 15th because the baby was transverse. But...at an appointment just after my 37th week the doc though the baby had turned. I had a very painful night a few nights before that where the baby moved (turned) all night. I have an ultrasound this Friday to confirm that the baby did in fact turn and I'm expecting they will cancel the c-section. So, don't give up hope that turning isn't possible - I know I had so it was definitely a surprise to hear that it had likely in fact happened. Wishing the best for you!!
