Angry

And so the saga continues....

Well, I've been for my routine 29wk check with the midwife today... more flaming stuff to add to this saga that is my pregnancy!!!

First off, there was sugar and protein in my urine, although not too high luckily. My BP has gone up a bit from 110/60 to 140/70, although we decided that's most likely because I was worked up about having to have bloods taken!

Then she measured my bump... and I'm measuring over 3 weeks bigger than I should be!!!!!! So I've got to have blood sugar tested, as there's a good chance I may have gestational diabetes... to add to the list! So she tried to take the blood, but couldn't get anything out of my veins!! So I got to go up the hospital this afternoon to let them have a go at my arms!! (I've already got 4 holes in me as it is!!!! )

Then I've got to call her tomorrow for the results and one of two things will probably happen...

1. There is an abnormal blood sugar result, and she will probably arrange for a glucose tolerance test at the hospital (drinking nasty sweet stuff, followed by yet more blood tests!)...

or 2. Blood results are normal, and she may refer me for a growth scan to find out what's going on!!

I think I may have been right all along though when I've been saying she's going to come early! My growth chart in my notes that she has to plot against already predicts I could be having a 9lb+ babe... but if she's already bigger........ SHIT!!!!!

Is there anything else that can be chucked at me for the remaining weeks of this ******* pregnancy?!!!!

sorry to hear you're having a rough day!

I too am worried about blood sugar levels today (I say as I scoff cake...prob not wise....). I'm off to see my doc for my 29 weeks check up today adn i've been told we'll "discuss the blood sugar test" i had a week or so ago...i may be worrying unnecessarily as maybe they'll just say " you're fine". And your test might just say you're fine too but i'm sure that normally they'd just tell me it's ok on the phone..it sounded ominous when i spoke to the receptionist anyway.

But it's hard to not worry isnt it. People keep telling me my bump is huge too...so i worry about GD even more and doc metioned before i had a lot of fluid...

Tough thing is I crave sweet things (hence my eating cake now...but it's only one small piece and I wont have anything else all afternoon i promise....)

i wouldnt even ask the "is there anything else this pregnancy can throw at me" question...bound to be heaps....

Lets just concentrate on blood sugar and get this one out of the way. Good luck to us both!!!

Not particularly... although the last couple of days it has seemed pretty hard and a bit itchy? Why do you ask?

I was mis-diagnosed with SPD I only found out last week when I went for 4D scan that I have far too much fluid & it was the pressure of this that had me in agony not SPD I am also measuring alot bigger but scan confirmed my dates to be right. I just thought it might be worthwhile for you to ask your doc to check your fluid!!

good luck I hope all is well & you get an easier time soon

I am right there with you in regards to the big baby and know how you feel. I had a GTT last week and a scan. Sugar was fine, but was told the baby is measuring large. I saw my consultant today and have been referred for a growth scan in 3 weeks. I was also told my abdomen is measuring large.

I am sure all will be well and neither you or I will pop before giving birth! Just take good care of yourself.
