Hmm, I'm not sure if mine were real. They probably weren't but the hospital said they sounded real. If they were.. they hurt. Not the kind of pain I was expecting though. BH seemed to hurt me more?

i hear they hurt ten times more once your waters have broken. Before then it's like someone squeezing you - like squeezing a big balooon of water - lots of squeezing but not a lot happening. Once the waters have gone it's the muscles squeezing directly on baby which i'm told is a whole different game!!!

I may well be wrong - I'm new to all this too!

It's hard to describe really and they are different for everyone. Mine didn't start until my waters had broken so were strong for me straight away and to me they felt like period pains but 100 times worse and like someone was squeezing my belly at the same time aswell.

Mine were all in my front though whereas some people only feel pain in their back, or their front and back.

mine were very period type pains at first, crampy etc, then all of a sudden my stomach felt like it was being crushed in a vice and the tightening was immense....

this however didnt last very long it was just during stage 3 of labour!

arr bless...

i didnt mean to scare anyone, i just feel i would prefer to know honestly what it feels like, i think we all know its gonna hurt ut it does really depend on the individual, every labour is diff...also i have a pain threshold but not that big and i didnt have an epidural so that says a lot i suppose, its amazing how the second we have our baby..we are like..pain .what pain lol

you will all be fine, trust in yourselves and have belief in your own bodies, we all have coping mechanisms and you will find yours!
