I'm Currently Feeling: | Newbie worried Hi Everyone,
First hello to everyone as Im new here and hope everyones pregnancies and attempts at getting pregnant are going well - I love being a mum.
Im a little bit worried, Im currently 27 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby. My children are aged 3, 4 and 5 - I did say I love being a mum! Even though it is getting a bit hard with how big I am this time!
I had 3 natural births and really cannot complain at my pregnancies- not a days morning sickness in all 4! I did have my first 5 weeks early, my membranes ruptured at 6 weeks preterm and was in slow labour for a week.
Other than that Ive been REALLY lucky, so I suppose its only fair I have a tough one this time lol!
I have had a really stressful pregnancy this time, as I moved away from a violent family 2 years ago after my mother beat me up. I have stopped her from seeing the kids since then and had a court case going as she wants contact with them but she seems to be getting worse so am standing my ground.
Luckily my husband and mother in law are fab and have been real rocks for me. The court case is getting pretty intense and I feel a bit like poo to put it nicely on a public forum, but put it down to stress.
Only, things are getting a lot worse and Im pretty worried about my symptoms at the mo.
My blood pressure over the last few weeks has been through the roof compared to normal 137/90 at the last take on tuesday, my ankles are really swollen and keep going purple as if they have no circulation and am getting pins and needles in them. I am also getting severe stomach pains at the top of my stomach, like just about 2 inches under my chest, which I put down to having a hernia but am not so sure.
I generally feel like I havent got any energy left and put this down to the stress of the court case. I have lost 6lb since I fell pregnant despite being close to 28 weeks again I put down to the stress of recent events, but then this week I have gained 6lb, which I thought was water retention.
But last night I kept waking up with swollen fingers and pins and needles in my hands and arms.
Does anyone know if this is normal as like I say I had 3 very plainsailing pregnancies so am a bit new to aches and pains, despite being on number 4!
Any help appreciated!
Thanks a lot

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi there.
call the doc and go get checked.
Swelling and high blood pressure can be a sign of pre-eclampsia which can be very serious indeed. http://www.preeclampsia.org/
i dont mean to panic you but it sounds like you should get checked. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | hi tiny toes
thanks for your advice, just read that site and feel i may have reason to worry! Dont worry about panicing me, id rather have advice than ignore the symptoms as they are getting worse!
I think I will phone them as soon as they are open tomorrow. I walked into my village this morning and had to sit down as I felt I was going to pass out. I told my husband I was worried coz my vision went funny, only for a few seconds but it frightened me as i felt light headed!
The midwife said at my checkup on tuesday that i had protein in my urine too, but that the amounts weren't anything to be concerned about. Im hoping this is still the case when I get an appointment tomorrow
Thanks a lot for your advice, its appreciated. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Just read the symptoms page and think maybe i should go the local walk in centre as it says if you experience vision problems, it should not wait | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi and welcome. I think you should see someone today. On the NHS website it says go to A&E with your symptoms. I wont rest until I have heard back that you are ok! Either call your MW or go to your labour ward - they will have a day unit for this exact purpose.
When my blood pressure went through the roof, my labour ward told me to come straight in if i got any of your symptoms. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Welcome to BnB! I know that pins and needles are very common in pregnancy and you shouldn't worry about them - lots of women get them. If you notice SEVERE, sudden swelling you should indeed get checked because it may be pre-eclampsia, although I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | Welcome and congrats on your pregnancy! It does sound like you're having a bit of a stressful time there and I hope it gets a little easier for you.
I agree with the ladies above, go and get checked if you can

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi and welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear about all the stress you're under at the minute - hopefully it'll be sorted before too long - sounds like your husband and MIL are being great support though.
As others have said I'd def try and get checked out today - better safe than sorry even if it turns out to be nothing.
Lots of luck x | | | | Status: Offline
