I remember reading an article in a magazine about a lady who had had a home birth, and after she had the baby, she got into her own bed with her husband and had a cuddle and a cup of tea with the two of them. I think that would be really nice.

I don't have the bottle for it though.

But I look forward to hearing your stories

I'm really, really interested in a home birth, I love the idea of not having to go to hospital!

I was planning on a home birth but then my haemoglobin levels dropped so I had to go to hospital - It turned out to be best that way, though so I'll not complain...

My mother had a home birth just a few weeks ago and she said it was the most fantastic birthing experience imaginable - the pains were really manageable and she was so relaxed and felt so in control being in her own setting... The midwife didn't get there in time, though and her partner had to deliver the baby! But that all went really well and I think there's even something really quite beautiful about him being the first to see and hold the baby.

From what I've heard it was everything you'd hope a home birth to be; relaxing, self-controlled and personal Kinda makes me wish I could have had one... Maybe next time

Well gutted...contractions started at 4am and were getting regular...I was asked to go to the hospital to check if my waters had broke as I had lots of leakage since yesterday...turns out they had. I was 3 cm dilated at 2:15 to be informed I had to give birth in the delivery suite. Then I was allowed home for a bit...but walking out of the door it was new hospital policy to keep me in so couldn't go home. Then my contractions slowed down and my labour hadn't progressed so they planned to induce me tonight. The midwife at 10:30pm came to tell me it wouldn't be tonight as they had a few priority cases so was released home! I'm first on the list tomorrow apparantly however I'm still getting irregular contractions so tonight's another night of no sleep. I'm so exhausted and really disappointed I won't get my home birth. Another part is so disappointed coz I thought I was going home with my baby. However, at least I won't have to stay overnight in hospital and I will defo be cuddling my baby tomorrow!
