Baby monitors

What type of baby monitor is everyone getting? I realised today i need to get one. Have looked about and they really vary in price some basic ones being about 30 pounds going into the hundreds. Any Advice?

My sister recently splashed out on one with a monitor to watch bubs while he's sleeping, however, they can't have the digi box on with it or in interferes and they have also picked up a local cab firm on it!!
Money not well spent.

We've bought this one (it was on sale for £40 from mothercare)

My mum and dad are bringing this one over with them from the states, it's so cool, and will onlly cost me £25, Summer don't seem to stock them over here. They can be quite expensive.

Here's the one we registered for, if we don't get it at the baby shower tomorrow we'll buy it ourselves. It's $169

I got the Tommee Tippee Ultra with the sensor mat. It's £110 at Mothercare but I googled it online and found it for £80 at another shop. I figure that spending the extra money to have peace of mind that she is still breathing is going to be money well spent.

I do remember that someone had a problem with this one though as it was making a lot of noise, but I haven't tried it out and I've only read good reviews of it.

i had a basic unit with maddy and that was fine a tomme one i think, this time i really wasnt sure what to get, my friend had a baby called jessie about 12 months ago and her parents had bought her the sensor pad and monitor that was a little over a hundred pounds, this did actually go off one night and they had to shake her vigarously to get her to breathe again, she was taken to hospital and no explanation was offered...

because of this and the fact we really do believe this saved her life i have oredered one, i have saved money on other items so have paid a little bit more on this..i did get a baragin and bought it in a sale paying £65 so i think i did quite well

We have this one by Tomy so we can walk around the house with it while LO is sleeping. Also really good as it has a temperature display so I won't worry it's too hot or cold where ever he is Quite funny that it has 2 way talking so I can scare OH when he is in there :P Has a good night light and vibrates too hehe ^^

Pitbull, we got the same one as you. DH found it on Craigslist still in the box with the purchase receipt for $60! I don't know if Craigslist where you are is very active, but you might want to check it out if you don't get it.

I just bought a BT one today in boots, £69 with 500 points! It plays music, had a digital thermometer and allows you to talk back.
