| Childbirth is the most natural thing in the world obviously. Look around you, look at the countless women who have done it. You need to develop a 'if she did it I can do it' attitude.
It will hurt, of course, BUT the pain is not everlasting, as soon as the baby has popped the pain, well basically is forgetable. Labour only last hours (the hours vary mind).
I suggest you watch loads of birthing programmes, its not for everyone, but for me, knowing what to expect was the best information I could get. I watched a range of births and helped me decide what I wanted.
What are you worried about? May help knowing a little to give you better advice. xx | | | | Status: Offline

All i can remember about the first is it did hurt but the out come was amazing.
Knowing it did hurt i could hardly remember the actuall pain afterwards. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Im really scared about this too, but I figured the more clued up I was the more Id know what to expect.
It will hurt, theres no point lying about it, but your body was made to do it and you need to be confident in yourself. The more stressed you are the longer it will probably last.

| For some reason childbirth does not scare me at all. It is everything else leading up to it - pure anxiety and worry! But, just try to relax and know that once the childbirth is over you will have your precious little one in your arms. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | All I can say is that when you get to the end somehow it doesnt seem scary anymore. Its like your relief from being pregnant and you know it leads to the end and getting to see your LO. Somehow your fears turn away and you want labor to begin. Woman have been having babies for millions of years, we were made to do it! Dont stress too much, enjoy your last 10 weeks being able to feel your LO move inside you |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I worry about this too, but I can't handle watching the childbirth stuff. I can't handle things like that. I have heard other women's stories and I have gathered that it is going to hurt (and that pain meds are GOOOD). I just have to accept the fact that it's going to take pain and patience, but in the end, it will all be worth the effort. I will finally get to meet the little person I've been carrying around with me for nine months. I can't wait to see who he looks like, to be able to hold him in my arms and see the wonderful life that God has given me and my OH.
It is perfectly natural to be scared or nervous about child birth. I'm going to be a first time mom as well and I am definately scared out of my mind so you are not alone. Everything will be okay and you will get help along the way whether it's from family, your OH, friends, nurses, doctor's or this forum. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Im with you, Im absolutely terrified of childbirth and its giving me serious anxiety the closer I come to delivery. Ive been contemplating an elective c-section and Ive brought it up with my ObGyn, to which she repiled "its a choice Im discouraging you to make", but Im giving it serious thought. |
