As some of you know oxsarahxo sadly lost her baby girl Jessica Charlotte Reay hours after giving birth. We are arranging a star to be named after Jessica and a lantern for her resting place from all of us. We also thought it would be nice to make a contribution to Sarah & Matt so they can use it towards flower arrangements, head stone or resting place arrangements. If you would like to contibute please PM me for details. I'm Currently Feeling: | Blood Pressure Hi All,
Had a midwife appointment yesterday and my blood pressure was 135 over 85, this is the highest mine has ever been. My midwife then asked me when I was planning on leaving work and I said 37 weeks and she said she wouldn't advise me going past 32 weeks (which is in 3 weeks), she now wants me to go for a doppler scan to look at the placenta and to really consider my leave date, I didn't think my blood pressure was that high to be honest and she has made me really worry!! What are your pressures like if you don't mind me asking

I'm Currently Feeling: | How many times did she test it? Were you anxious? Mine gets a bit high like that when I get stressed out. I have a BP cuff at home and I take it a couple of times a day.
Was there any other signs of a problem? Was there protein in your urine? DO you have any unusual swelling, especially in your arms, hands, face? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had a really stressful day at work yesterday morning and rushed to the midwife appointment to find she was running an hour late. No swelling, no protein in my urine so can't understand the reaction xx | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Its probably just precaution. Maybe mention it to your employer to warn them you may need to take time off early, but see how it is at your next appointment?
Mine is always higher when I go to the docs than when Im at home.

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've given up battling with my BP. On Monday my BP was 147/98 which is really high and I couldn't believe I felt fine with it being like that... They sent me straight to the hospital and said "you'll be in until baby comes and probably induced today"
Got there and MW tested it again and it was 138/82 so they just gave me a sweep and sent me home.. lol
I think my surroundings really effect my BP so I've given up worrying about it.
I brought a BP monitor for home (8.99 from Lloyds pharmacy!!) and I check mine everyday (just encase) and its never as high as it is at the docs..
Just try not to worry, and I'd recommend buying the BP monitor if you are worried.. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My BP was alway horrific at the dr. We are talking 145+/85+.
However, I knew I never had a problem with it because I logged it for a few weeks (at pharmacy booths) and it was always in the 120s/70s.
I showed the log to the nurses and they were always happy with that.
I never had protein in my urine so I guess they concluded there was no need to worry and that it was only my nerves that were problematic. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Another thing- have them take it in your non-dominant arm. I have simulataneiously taken my bp in both arms, and my left consistently runs a good 5-10 points lower. |
