Worried....

At around 12:30 today I started having cramps. Well around 2:00 they starting getting worse and have been off and on since then. I rang the doc over an hour ago and haven't heard back. I called just a little bit ago and the doctor hasn't seen my note yet (must be with a patient). I am waiting for a call back. I've been trying to time them as much as possible. LO has been moving around like crazy during all of this but I am worried. Is it too early to be having false contractions (if that's what it is)? All I know is that it hurts.

I started getting BH contractions at about 20 weeks, its not too early for them for you at all. Keep track of when your actually contracting and if you are getting them more than 4 an hour for more than an hour or two then I would call the doctor again if you havent heard back. Or if the pain gets really intense I would call again. Its worth being safe and getting it checked out. You want your LO to bake a while longer Hope your feeling better soon!

I had this sort of thing at 30 weeks with 1st baby turned out she was really large for dates and was stretching me to capacity so uterus got very irritable and started cramping and contracting they measured my bump at hospital and it measured 40 weeks they examined me and i was found to be 2cm dilated too however i did not give birth for another 7 weeks you could of course have a urine infection that can cause pains too you have done the right thing calling doctor better safe than sorry x

not too early at all. I had my first BH contractions around 20 weeks.

One or two a week... Then more often. Now I get 8-10 an hour for a couple hours maybe 2-3 times a day.

Depending on baby's position they can be very uncomfortable, and maybe painful.

You're doing the right thing by calling the doc and timing them.

I wound up going to the hospital to get checked out last night. I had 5 contractions while they were monitoring me. They checked my cervix to make sure is was still closed (OMG, it hurt when she did that). Everything is fine and there are no problems. She said if I have 6 or more contractions within an hour then I need to come back. She couldn't really tell me why I was having contractions (which didn't put my mind at ease), but I'm just glad that LO is okay.

By the way dizzynic, you're dog is too cute. (I know that's off subject, but couldn't help myself).

Glad u got it checked out, are you still having them and did they say they were proper contractions??

I've had BH one's since about 18 weeks but they have never been sore, very uncomfortable but never sore.

Try and take it easy. x

So far I haven't had any since last night and LO is moving around. She said they were contractions, but made it sound like it was normal or no big deal. I work a desk job so I sit all day long. Thank you all for your replies, I appreciate it.

I will admit, when I was laying there in the hospital, I started getting anxious and nervous cause all I could think about is that it won't be too long until I'll be back there delivering. It was weird and kind of a reality check.

just catching up with the latest goings ons. SOunds like you've had quite a couple of days. I think I've started having BHs. I had a weird very painful cramping last week but it was a one off and never came back. Then yesterday I had what I can only assume is a BH - felt like my uterus was being squeezed. It wasnt painful as such, more uncomfy - like I wanted to tell whoever was squeezing me to get off¨!!!

I hope your contractions stay away, make sure to take it easy!!

I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions since week 22, and they just seem to get worse and worse. You can experience Braxton Hicks anywhere from 16 weeks onward, so that is possibly what it was. If you do get them again try walking around or changing activities, because if they are Braxton Hicks that will make them go away.
