At the same time, they do have some real neat playpens now that have a hanging mobile, bassinet and also a changing place that can be taken off as baby grows.

Looks like I will be getting one of these
My FIL bought us a playpen with the mobile, bassinet, changing table. Honestly it's not something I would have bought only because we live in a small apartment, the only place to put it up is in the living room and it takes up too much space, plus we wouldn't be able to keep the cats out of it! Keeping it though because we figure it might come in handy when we are visiting in-laws.

This is the bather that we bought

I could definitely see them taking up too much space in an apartment. It probably will in our house too. LOL

However, at the same time, I find that there are many benefits to them, for me anyhow. It's worth a try anyhow.

If we had a house, I think I'd get tons more use out of it, but we have a one bedroom apartment (plus a small solarium which will be the nursery) there's just no place to set it up and we can't lock the cats out of the living room area, they're already locked out of our bedroom and will be locked out of the nursery. I can just see them scratching the netting on that thing

We have a cat but it's so old that it doesn't do much but eat and then hide in a corner all day.

The dog, on the other hand, is one reason to get this thing. And then my other kids are an issue too.

Also, if my kids need something from me or I need to bath them, at least I can put the baby in the playpen for a bit so that nothing bad will happen.

Add that to a C-section...I don't really want to climb up and down the stairs to put baby down for a sleep.

An apartment is a bit easier as it's on one level so I really can't see you needing one either.

We have a changing station but it's not like the one you're talkng about I don't think... it's wooden and has 4 drawers in it... the changing mat sits on the top.

I got it donated by my auntie and she said it was brilliant when her two kids were younger, and she also talked about how she used to sit the bath on top as well.

Sorry - not much help!

We are a bit limited on space and money and would hate for anything to be a waste so we will use a changing mat on a chest of drawers tucked in a corner for upstairs or on the bed with a towel and just a changing mat on the floor if changing downstairs.
I bought a very basic baby bath with a terry towelling support seat thingy which can be used in it and then in the big bath when baby grows. The basic bath feels good cos i can then bath baby where ever feels right even if its on the dining room table for the height to save my back bending.

our sink is never free long enough though with all the washing up of dishes etc its a continuous cycle all day breakfast/lunch/dinner plates.
