Leakage...

For the last few days I have noticed that my underwear is literally soaking wet within an hour of putting them on. I decided to start putting on pantiliners but they are also soaked after a few hours. I do not see the MW until next Wednesday and there is no way I can get to the hospital to get checked. I was wondering if there is any other signs that people have had that it is there waters leaking and not just discharge?

There really is no way of knowing unless you test it. I know the CM can really be heavy towards the end, but I don't know. Can you ring your MW?

I may go and see her on Friday if possible, I just don't wanna think that it will harm the baby if I wait to be checked

Give the water a sniff..

I read online that some women describe their waters of smelling of semen??

Does it have any colour or smell??

if your waters have broken a little then you are at a serious risk of infection if antibiotics are not given within 24 hours. I would say if your liners are really "soaked" within a few hours, then there is a high chance it is your waters. It is very common!

The infection can be very very serious for you and your baby and I suggest that you go straight to your labour ward no matter whatever is keeping you busy. If you feel sick, get headaches and have a temperature, then you need to get an a&e.

Dont want to scare you, if it is your waters then antibiotics should do the trick until baby comes.

Hope you are ok and let us know!

I'm with Emmea. Get it checked. Infection is highly possible.

I just saw an article online which says to put on a pad and lay down for 30 mins, if it is soaked when you get up to go and get checked out. I think I'm to early for this to be happening though lol! I'm not that lucky to get to meet my LO yet! x

Scary to think like that though hehe!
I will put a pad on later after a shower and see how soaked it is within an hour. If it is bad I will call the Midwife Unit in the morning
Thanks for the advice, I just don't wanna be the paranoid mum to be lol!

Dont be scared of being paranoid! Woman go in there all the time with much less leakage than you have! At least one person on here had the same problem recently but described it as less than yours and ended up going into labour.

If you leave it to late and you have an infection - i can stress enough how serious that would be for both of yoU!

You do not have to be in labour to have a leakage either - and if your baby isnt fully cooked, it can affect their lungs without steriods.

Not worth risking if you ask me!
