Any tips to make the days go by on Mat leave?

Hi Girls...
Well I have 18 days until my C section and one more day at work (tomorrow). I know time is going to drag and Im such a busy bee at work that its going to be a right novelty being off!
Ive already packed the hospital bags, the nursery is ready and other than cleaning cleaning cleaning, getting a haircut and maybe making a load of food to put in the freezer for after the big day, I dont know how else to make the days not feel so looooong!
Any tips would be lovely! xx

lol, I am completely the opposite, I think time will absolutely fly by when I'm on mat leave, even if I do very little and I have 10 weeks of it before baby arrives (hopefully)!

The advise people have given me though is to relax, read books, and sleep to your heart's context. Have a well earned break before your baby arrives and prevents you from doing any of that!

Hope the weather is nice for you

xx

All I can say is DVD box sets! When I went on mat leave my first pregnancy I spent hours watching boxsets rented from blockbuster for a £5 a week!

I am so going to miss doing that this time but dont think my 15 month old will be into that idea

I found it quite tedious as all my friends have jobs so there wasn't anyone to play with. Definitely cook and freeze as much as you can. I went to the cinema a few times which was a bit freaky as i watched one film in an empty cinema. Do as many spa type treatments that you can. Go out with your OH as much as possible. It'll be cheaper than when you have to get a babysitter

I'm thinking the same and I have 5 weeks to play with! My first day off is tomorrow. I've got sorting the nursery and painting the bathroom as tasks for this week.

Then, cleaning and sorting the kitchen cupboards. And a proper deep spring clean planned for the following weeks.

I'm also going to try some new recipies each week and then a week or two out I'll stock pile some food for the freezer.

In the easter holidays my friend is off (she's a teacher) so she's taking me out to the zoo, the park etc.

I hope it doesn't drag too much.

I start my maternity leave tomorrow, but have my PhD to finish. So I'll be wiling away the days trying to find things to do other than sit at my computer and write 20 000 more words. I have a feeling I'll be checking this site every 10 minutes!

I plan to catch up on tv series, do baking of snacks and meals to pop in freezer, make sure everything has been tested and run for baby (run steriliser etc), fill in as much paper work as possible, write out addresses on envelopes and put stamps on them all, so once photos are printed we can just fill in the blanks and get sent out to family who don't have internet. I also plan to pretty much make sure whole house has had thorough clean as it isn't likely to get done for a while!
