When to start counting

I know at around 30 weeks we have to start counting babys movements, can anyone clarify how many kicks/movements per day? And is it 30 weeks we start counting?

My baby has spurts like she'll kick constantly for an hour and then i wont feel her until much later in the day, so do i count how many times she kicked during that hour and that will be her 10 movements?

I thought we just counted every now and then during a 2 hour period?
Oh I dont know though - my doc hasnt said anything to me yet.
I know my LO is in a quiet phase and is worrying me....he's still moving and kicking, but some days are certainly more active than others. I guess its like us all - we all have lazy days.

I was told from 28 weeks we should count babys movements and there should be at least 10 movements within a 2 hour period (per day). Was also advised to count the movements at the same time roughly every day.

10 kicks every 2 hours seems a lot. What if your baby is sleeping for longer than 2 hours!

10 kicks within 2 hours per day, not every 2 hours.

My MW said to start counting at around 34 weeks. You gotta count 10 kicks in a one hour period. This has to be an active period for the baby, not just any hour. I know my LO is always active at certain times during the day, so that is when I count. Some say do this twice a day, my MW says just once. She also advised that if I don't get my kick count one day, not to panic as they can have lazy days, but if I don't get it the 2nd day, call her ASAP. So far with my little wiggle worm, this is not a problem.

I don't kick count. If she hasn't kicked me for 6 hours (to my recollection anyway) I suck on some ice. Boy does she hate that..

I don't count either. If I feel like she hasn't moved as much as normal I eat something and go and lay down and after a bit she'll generally start moving, if she doesn't, I pull out my doppler and give that a go...
