Unhappy

Failed...

Had my glucose test this morning (the one-hour variety) and got a call shortly before 5 saying I hadn't passed it. My level was 155--supposed to be 140 or under. I am going back in again right away tomorrow for the 3-hour test (and double the icky sugary drink--blech), mostly because I am worrying myself sick about the possibility of gestational diabetes, so want to find out ASAP.

I know I've had it easy up until now...I just hope things will turn out OK and Baby is going to be fine...

Sorry to hear love, I know a couple of other ladies here have GD, so they should be good support if you test positive again. Fingers crossed that you won't!

I know how you feel, honey, but either way it's going to be fine. I was crushed when I failed my 1hour test and doubly so when I failed the 3 hour test. Once I got over the shock of things not being 100% perfect, I realized everything is still fine. The baby is fine, I'm fine and its easily controlled by watching what I eat just a little bit better. Mostly I have left off fruit juice, breads and desserts and my levels are normal. I also still indulge occasionally. So its not bad at all to deal with. It also goes away soon after the baby is born.

For your test tomorrow, bring a snack with you to eat as soon as you can after the last blood draw. I felt quite ill during and after but eating helped. Good luck!
