Sorry to hear that, do you have your results back from the second test yet?

I passed the second test! My glucose levels were well below the "cutoff" mark this time around on all four draws, so have no clue what threw it off yesterday. The nurse said it could have been what I ate for breakfast that skewed it...anyway, I'm relieved (and glad I won't have to down another huge glass of that syrupy sweet drink anytime soon).

How did it go for you, Emmea?? I thought about you while I was waiting, knowing there was someone else out there going through the same uncertainty I was!

I am so pleased your ok!! Must be a huge weight off of your mind.

Thank you for thinking of me, but unfortunately - the test I had on Saturday was pretty conclusive and I def have GD. The appointment today was just to go through diet and testing proceedures. I have to test my sugar twice a day and stick to a diet for a week before they decide whether i need medication But on the plus side, the diet looks simple. I have always eaten healthily anyway.

The things that can effect the baby are quite daunting, especially as he will have low blood sugar as soon as he is born and will need feeding asap to bring the levels back up - as he has spinal bifida, he is not allowed food as he is going into surgery so will have to have a glucose drip instead - meaning he will get whisked away from me even quicker

Poor thing is going to go through hell and back before I get a cuddle

Oh Emmea...I'm so sorry about your situation. It sounds like you are a wonderful mother already to your little tyke and he'll continue to be surrounded by nothing but love and support the moment he enters the world! Keep your head up and just remember what a tiny miracle that little baby is already--I'm thinking of you!!
