hi hun yes its always best to know, alternatively visit your maternity unit or docs and explain you think u have thrush and they will do swabs that include gbs anyway....sucks you have to, but we dnt routinely check for it as you say and we should, i found out by surprise, do not i repeat do not google it, i scared myself to death googling gbs and also do not worry, most likely you dont have it, even if you do the chances of passing it to your unborn baby are very and imean very small xxxx

Hi, I've got it! It was discovered after I started bleeding (after sex, the bleeding was nothing to do with have group b strep) I went into the maternity triage, had a sample of the blood i was passing taken, got a phone call a few days later, saying all was fine, HOWEVER!! they'd discovered I had GBS, They sent me a letter through the post along with a sticker to stick in my green notes that basically said what I had..

And was told, that when I'm nearer/on my due date if my waters break or as soon as i start contracting to go straight into the hospital so they can get me hooked up to an I.V for antibiotics that will lower any risks.. I read all the risks myself and panicked.. But to be honest, theres nothing I can do.. I've got it, and I have to deal with it, Im lucky it has been picked up so something can be done. So whatever happens, will happen

I know its hard not to worry, but you don't even know for sure that you have it yet.. dont upset yourself like that

Aw, hope all goes well with the birth of your baby! I have sent off for a ECM test which is meant to be the most accurate, i know you have to pay quite a bit of money for it,....but any amount of money is worth knowing my babyll be fine at the time of delivery. If i have it it's treatable and if i dont i dont... xx
