That is high, fh usually 110-170 my hosp told me, cos my bubs kept dropping but was ok!
It's not uncommon to not feel movement at eighteen weeks, so bubs may well be absolutely fine.

The notes do sounds rude, I'd perhaps go back or speak to you midwife, although unfortnatekly there is nothign to do before 24 weeks if something goes wrong other than advise bedrest? horrible as it is.

Not unusual not to feel baby moving at 18 weeks - I think I was about 22 weeks BUT call your midwife NOW about that heart rate - I think I've read 130-160 is 'normal' but give her a call.

even that sounds rude! but 192 bpm is high how long did they monitor your for? if it was me I'd ring my mw and ask if she could see me she will listen to babies heartbeat and tell you the heart rate I have to say all of the mw's and labour ward have been great with me and if someone laughed at me when I was worried about little man they would be on the floor x

ye it was really rude.. the women on the reception shouted over and said how far is she and the women said 18 weeks and the receptionist laughed with her like to say i was a silly paranoid pregnant women.. and thats a next thing she monitored me for around 30 secs probably not evn that and ino that they times it by 2 and dere was no way 96 bpm

hun i would contact ur MW about the heart rate just to put ur mind at rest, and i also think ypur maternity unit has woman that have no compassion whatsoever, i swear if someone laughed at me while i was worried i would go ballistic, seriously i would go mad, i know before 24 weeks there isnt much they can do but what the hell does laughing at someone achieve other than to make yourself look elike a complete and utter moron. i would have made a complaint hun, but try not to worry to much, and defo speak to ur midwife, if nothing more than reassurance xxxx

Totally agree with what the other ladies have said, the nurses in that unit were very rude and patronising. They shouldn't be in a job like theirs if that is their attitude. I know fetal heartrate is higher earlier on in pregnancy (I remember my bean's being 175BPM) but I woulndn't have thought it should be as high as yours and you're well into second tri now anyway so hardly early. I would def talk to your community MW about the heartrate and I would complain about my treatment too - or perhaps get your OH to do it if it's easier?

Just read your post above where you said they only monitored you for 30 or so seconds - it is very possible that the heartrate could just have gone up temporarily because your baby was wriggling around - think it is just appauling that they didn't monitor you for a proper lenght of time.

So annoying, I feel like complaining for you. So rude.

OMG can't believe they were so rude to you! I hope you are going to complain. You may only be 18 weeks but that isn't the point, pregnancy is a huge unknown for us first time mums and sometimes we just need reassuring that what we are going through is normal. This forum has helped me so much, as guaranteed whatever you are experiencing or want to know guaranteed someone will be able to help you.

What they said about it not being uncommon to not feel any movements at 18 weeks is true but they could have put things a bit nicer. My mw told me to start paying attention to fetal movements from 24 weeks onwards.

As for your baby's hb that does sounds pretty high but I think if you are stressed or have been particularly active then it makes baby's hb and yours go faster. Once you were on the monitor and heard your baby was fine did you relax and baby's hb drop down a bit? My baby's hb has always been around 150 bpm at my mw appointments.

Hey hun - just looked at my notes and there is a chart inthere which says:
Heartrate 110 - 160 - reassuring
Heart rate: 100-109 -non reassuring
Heart rate 161 - 181-non reassuring
Heart rate below 100 - abnormal
Heart rate above 180 - anbnormal

Really dont want this to scare you, but its an official chart. If iwere you id ring, say your concerned and unhappy and request another CTG - they have to do this for you. Dont panic but get back up there and dont let them make you feel like your making a fuss.

xx

yus that's high. Jude's was on average 143 and they always said that was a good heartbeat. the only time it ever rose quite high was when i was in labour and it didn't get that high, i think the highest was 175 x

I agreee with others, that was very rude and I'd complain, they are meant to be there to help you have an easy pregnancy and put your mind at rest. GR some people. Don't worry about them though
Anyway I'd call your midwife and get checked over by her just because the heart rate is quite high.
