bored sick of waiting for labour

im 40+4 today and im sick of waiting for labour to kick off im tired and sore and the same thing eveyr day its just getting on my nerves i have spd so cant go for long walks to encouirage labour along and sex is completely out of the question with my spd, I have one leg that swells up and gets puffy and as of yesterday at my MW appointment i havent had a sweep caus she couldnt reach my cervix ( as much as she tried ) to give me one,
I have a toddler that im being a useless mother to because of my spd and being heavily pregnant and im just done with it, my ds was born at 42+6 but i was exteremely stressed and my body was ready for labour and trying its best but my stress levels were stopping me getting very established in labour at all and when it finally did happen it was a long drawn out process,

I dont want to be induced caus i have planned a wonderful natural waterbirth and due to back problems cant have an epidural so would have to cope with gas and air as im not going to use pethadine, and if i was induced and it ended up with a c-section then I would have to either wait for a spinal to work or get put right out , and a c-section doesnt leave me very well off considering DH cant really afford to take weeks leave to care for DS so i would have to care for him as well as cope with recovering from spd and the c-sec,

But i really am struggling more mentally each day and phycially and its getting me down being overdue and I dont want to go another 9-10days , and if i did chose to go longer id lose my waterbirth option after i pass 42wks anyway, i have things to do next weekend which is when they would be inducing me or wanting to as i reach 42wks

I dont know what to do, im not even getting more than 1 or 2 braxton hicks contractions each day and no pains and MW said yesterday that nothing seemd ready other than baby being head down,

Oh hun, I'm so sorry you're feeling like this You're not being a useless mother at all, you're doing what you can and with everything that's going on with you, I think you're coping really well. Have a good cry, shout, scream etc... do whatever you can to try and take some of the frustration away. Just don't heap more pressure on yourself, you're dealing with enough at the moment hun.

Big hugs, thinking of you!

xx

Ugh. Waiting for labor sucks. I'm already waiting and I'm still weeks away! And it only gets worse the closer you get!

The only positive I can give you is that if you DO end up with a c-sec, it probably won't be as bad as you imagine. By the time you get home, you will be able to take care of yourself, baby, and #1. Try not to stress it. Relax. And try some at home induction techniques - sex, walking, spicy food, etc! Good Luck!

I feel in exactly the same position as you its driving me crazy waiting. All the things you said regarding wanting a natural birth and having spd are the same with me. I really hope your managing to keep positive. x x
