Puffed up feet & ankles

Hi Ladies, just wondering if anyone else is suffering with swollen feet & ankles at this late stage and what you're doing to combat it?

I've been trying to keep myself occupied over the last week or so - meeting up with friends in town for coffee, shopping with my mum, walks to the park with my SIL and nephew but it's took its toll on my ankles - I think the walking is the cause anyway? One of them especially is unrecognisible from the other - my ankle bone has disappeared under the swelling

2 & a bit weeks and counting *fingers crossed*

The only thing I found that works is keeping my feet up, which is really hard to do since I like to keep busy. Ya, walking will cause more swelling. My left ankle is unrecognizable too lol. I think it's more swollen on my left cuz I sleep on my left. Just my own theory I was told to help bring the swelling down is to drink alot of water. I know, it sounds kinda dumb, but it works. You dont have much longer to go though|!! (Im a tad jelous )

yes i have this too, i was actually worried about how big my feet were the other day, i told my MW and she said it was just a case of keeping you feet raised, above the level of your heart when possible.

I was going to post soemthing like this earlier lol. My right ankle has been sooo sore since sunday, it seems to be getting worse each day, this afternoon my left ankle started hurting too it's really starting to get me down!
They're both quite swollen but my right ankle had literally disappeared!

I've tried cold compress, soaking in warm baths and also keeping my foot really high on pillows but nothing is helping!!
I'd love to hear suggestions on how to relieve this too!xxx

I have had problems with my knees/ankles for a few years now due to the muscles in my legs not being right to accomodate the quick change in the width of my hips
which now im pregnant has increased again causing even more swelling.

All i can say works is to keep feet raised and lie down.
Also if there not hurting to bad i was given some excercises which could help but i find i can only manage one where i stand on the bottem stair and hold onto the banister with one leg hanging, you then bend the leg which is on the stair till the hovering foot reaches the floor (but dont allow your weight to go on it)
i only do this when there not hurting though to try and stop the swelling in the first place

(if any of that made sence)

x

My ankles and feet have been really swollen for the past month i was a bit concerened as been reading about pre eclampsia so mentioned it to my mw and she had ruled that out thank god. I have been having reflexology and that seems to help it. Drinking water is good too. Been wearing flip flops for the past few days and this has helped quite a bit. When you go to the mw just mention it to her .

My hands have been swollen for a while now, but my feet and ankles have just got really bad over the last week. I am now really struggling to put my boots on, yesterday I had to wear flip flops to work and even they were tight.

I asked at my consultant appointment yesterday and they said that I should keep my feet up as much as possible (a bit hard when I'm at work) and drink lots of water....
