External Cephalic Version??

I was just wondering if anyone had had an attempt at turning their baby from a transverse or breech position to head down??

The reason I ask is because at my appointment today the MW said pippykins was transverse and that she was going to keep an eye on her positioning but if she was the same at 34 weeks then she'd arrange for a presentation scan at 36 weeks and if LO is STILL transverse at 36 weeks then she would perform a external cephalic version... I'm not worried as I know there's still plenty of time for pip to turn but I just wanted to know if anyone had had this done before and if so... Is it painful lol.

xxx

Hey hun, havent experienced this myself but someone at work has and they told me it is AGONY. I dont want to scare you but guess its best to be honest. It might have just hurt this girl but she found it incredibly painful......have a look on google and see if you can find anything xx

I have not had one, but I am thinking that it would be easier to turn a 'transverse' baby- [baby laying horizontal] in the womb, rather than a 'breech' baby which would be a 180 degree turn rather than a 90 degree turn with a 'transverse' baby~*

I'm afraid I've heard a few people going in for this and they've all come out saying it hurts! And very few have said it works!

SO my suggestion get on your hands and knees, lean forward as much as possible and bounce on a birthing ball to help it sort itself out!

There is plenty of time hun, so don't worry yourself, but no harm in doing best to avoid it, all above as well as walking and going up and down stairs!

Good Luck!
