water leaking

Hi girls,

I really hope you all can help me out¡! I am popping over from 2nd tri however will be joining you all in 4 days!!!

For two weeks now I have been having water leaking. I went to my doctors 2 weeks ago and he did an internal examination and took low down swabs. He said on the examination he couldn't see any signs of fluid pools so its prob urine or a infection..... I took jis word but have had to wear a panty liner since which is constantly damp. Saw my mw yesterday for my check up and she looked at the liner and said it definately wasn't urine, my swabs were back and their all fine however she has told me if it increases, changes colour or babys movement decreases go straight to hospital. Well today the amount has increased a little but not lots. Have any of u had discharge that constantly dampens a panty liner or do u think I am leaking?

My drs made me feel a little silly for worrying about it but I feel I know my body and this doesn't feel right!!!

Please help!! X

Unfortunately, the amount of watery discharge increases the further along you get. I'm sure it's fine hun, especially as they've tested it.

You could try putting a fresh liner on, laying down for half hour or an hour and then standing up. If it's waters you should 'gush' a bit as you stand up, but if it's just discharge it won't do that. HTH x

Thank you for your reply, I am going to sound really stupid now, so if I lay down and it was fluid I wouldn't leak? if that's the case then it must be discharge as I get it when led down too..... sorry pariniod first time mum syndrome!!! X

Unfortunately yes its probably pregnancy related normal discharge since they tested it. it can be quite alot for some women.

i was walking the dog the other week and a big gush of water came out. i knew it wasn't my waters breaking as i already have a daughter and it was different to that. it was clear water, didn't smell of anything and went through to my jeans.

so i told my midwife who sent me to the hospital for tests. they took a swab and said they couldn't see any water, but kept me in for 2 days. I had a scan which said my amniotic fluid level is slightly low, but not low enough to worry about (it was 7cm). I also had high white blood cells in 3 blood tests. Anyway, they let me out and said to come back for another swab and blood tests 2 days later, which i did and haven't heard anything since.

I haven't leaked anymore (been getting some discharge- nice) but definitely not leaking. i am slightly concerned as it seems to have just been forgotten about now- i have no more appointments to check, just the routine ones. I'm 30 weeks this week, so fingers crossed will last til the end...
