Hi, cupcake! Hope you are feeling better! I saw you had a rough vacation. I hope you got to enjoy at least one day

My sugar levels have been good- 72-79 in the mornings and 99-115 after dinner. Some readings have been higher, especially after dinner but I admit I haven't changed my eating habits all that much. I've mainly just stopped drinking fruit juices and eating desserts. I am supposed to keep my levels under 90 in the morning and under 120 after dinner. I only have to test 2x a day. I kind of think this is unfair because all of my reading material says that normal levels are under 110 before meals and under 140 after meals. My highest readings have been within these ranges so I think I'm doing great- even when I indulge

My weight gain has slowed considerably even though the baby is obviously growing very well.

I can type up the diet plan I was given in a little while. I don't really follow it per se but it might help you get an idea of what they expect.

How are your levels? How are you feeling?

You must be doing something right if your levels are staying within the normal range. Ever wonder if they diagnosed you right? If we are staying in normal ranges and still indulging, how can we be diabetic? :P

I think Im envious of you ladies. I have to test 4x a day (at least) - 2 hours after each meal.

I have a meal plan but mostly only follow the carb part, but even that I am having to modify to get things right - and now Im sick and my sugars are high because of that. *sigh*

fasting, Im supposed to be under 90

1h after a meal, <130
2h after a meal, <120.

in the last week, (ok, Im on day 4 of being sick), Ive been
fasting: 83-93
2h after breakfast: 105-163
2h after lunch: 90-144
2h after dinner; 106-164

before I got sick, I was mostly in range except for a couple after dinners of between 120 and 130.

Been doing ok today, but I suspect that's only b/c Im only eating 20g carbs at a time and testing/eating every 2h, which I cant do at work.

oh star sounds like ure having a rough time. my fasting is about 89 which is on the high side too. my sugars after meals are also 120 about
its not easy. maybe when you get better things will improve. we have a lot of diabetics in my family and i know that being sick really does affect it.
do you girls feel like this is such a strange condition? we are not really diabetic but we dont have great sugars.. im so confused as to what to do exactly.
i know that it can mean a big baby and that the baby's sugar will be tested after birth.. dunno if im rambling i just sometimes feel like- what is this condition?

Well, it didnt go so great today. the test I had was conclusive and I do have GD. I have to keep to a strict diet - which to be honest isnt a problem, it is pretty much how i eat anyway.

I have to test my levels before and after food.

Is there anyone in here who is suffering in england?? I would like to discuss my readings. After being so good today my BSL was 10.2 an hour after dinner I am worried i am going to need insulin
