Pains and Braxton Hicks

Hi

Over the last hour I have had loads of pressure like pains low down may just be baby moving. I have also had a slight pain in my side near the top, which has eased off now. I have been quite busy today and done quite a bit of walking and bending compaired to normal so may just have over done it a bit.

I am probably worrying over nothing. I am 29 weeks today and I have been so worried about getting to this stage as I went into premature labour with my youngest son at 29 weeks.

Please tell me this is normal and I am over reacting

Also what do braxton hicks feel like I have never had them (not that I am aware of anyway) with my 3 boys. My friend is 34 weeks and phoned me to ask what they felt like and I said I would ask on here for her.

I get this pressure all the time and it is BH. I asked my MW about it today and she said it was fine. I also get pains in my ribs, but it is usually his foot!

Thanks for all your replies. I thought I may just be worrying over nothing, although I still have the pressure pains (or at least thats what they feel like) which are coming and going still, but havent got any worse. My asthma has also started playing up now too, so i'm going to have a shower and go to bed and see how I feel in the morning.

I wouldnt describe it as painful, but very uncomfortable. Sometimes period pains accompany it and i think they are just stretching pains really.

It is normal for asthma to come with a vengence in pregnancy because of the increased load your lungs take in. Make sure you mention it to your midwife as they may need to adjust your medication to avoid asthma attacks.

Hope the pains go away and you feel better tomorrow!

hope you're feeling better now?
I'm just starting tehe 29th week and am full of aches. Every morning i seem to have mild period like pains in my lower belly. The other night it was really quite painful for about 10 minutes. I can't find a reason for them, except that it's getting pretty full in there and baby is growing - I read I'm now entering a period of rapid weight gain. Even needing a poop (sorry tmi) can be painful these days...there's not even enough room for usual digestive practices!!!

I'm putting them all down to usual third tri aches and discomforts and trying to not worry unless i get some blood or something leaks. I guess this tri isnt meant to be as care-free and easy as the second tri which for me was a dream.

Well I have been up most of the night from 1.45am with contractions and had an asthma attack too. Been seen at hospital and its braxton hicks contrations which they said caused the asthma attack.

My asthma (which doesnt normally bother me) is now being watched very closely, as they are worried that I will have another bad attack when I go into labour.

I have also to try and rest as much as possible which is slightly difficult with 3 kids but my mum has agreed to have them today for a bit and they are back at school tomorrow, so hopefully I can get a bit of rest.

Awww sorry to hear about your trip to the hospital! I too have been given the bed rest order and I am moving home tomorrow!!

Maybe next time you get the BH, you could chill out in a warm bubble bath with lots of candles and mellow music to keep you calm. It is recommended you practice breathing exercises - but i guess that depends on your asthma!

I am sure you will be ok, but fingers crossed for you and good luck!
