If your DH starts to feel quesy just let him leave the room. Some men really can't handle the labor and birth, and it does make them feel bad. But you have to remember that we put a lot of pressure on men to be with us, and sometimes they just can't. My DH has needle phobia and doesn't like to see blood and all that. I thought he would faint and I was ok if he needed to leave. But luckily he was fine and watched the entire birth. Just have to take it minute by minute.

I am hoping a little faith in my DH will go a long way. As someone else said, I will be asking him to stay away from the "business end" and even so the more squeamish bits don't come until they end do they? I am mostly worried about how he is going to handle my being in pain as he has found it quite hard dealing with the pain I am in due to SPD and gets upset on my bad days, bless him!

as soon as they see the baby they wont be able to think about the squeamish bit and thats when it does get bloody and all that so no need to really worry in my book,

However! My sister's boyfriend at the time (father of the baby) did horribly in there with her. Thankfully my mom was with her or she would have been by herself. While she was in labor and all that he actually laid down and went to sleep. Not when she was sleeping or anything..but when she was actually contracting and in pain. Crazy. I guess the whole time he acted like he was horribly tired and didn't really do the things that he should have done. Of course now he sees the things he did were wrong..you just can't take that stuff back though! haha
Oh that sounds horrible! I can't believe someone could actually pretend to sleep through all of this!

I can have two people in the room but DH is a bit funny about having my mum in there with us aswel...he keeps telling me he's embarassed to be there alongside her and would prefer to be with me alone. My mum doesn't really mind - which is why I'm thinking maybe I'll take both but she can wait outside.
