does anything delay labour?

So basically I've read and tried all the tips about inducing labour-none of which worked.
I was wondering if there are things that delay labour. Maybe I'm doing something without knowing it.

Any ideas ladies?

Being overly stressed/worried/anxious! There's a theory that by being stressed/anxious etc, your body thinks that conditions aren't right for labour, so it will delay releasing the hormones which kick things off. Animals can sense when conditions aren't right in their environment (like a predator in the area etc) and even if they have started labour they can stop to move somewhere where they feel safer and more relaxed.

I think this is why massage has been said to help things along- because you're deeply relaxed x

Thank you, being overdue is stressing me out for sure.
I was hoping she'd come a couple days early, but the longer it takes the more stressed I'm becoming. I have too much time on my hands to think about things that can go wrong during labour
Will try to relax a bit more.

I have tried relaxing and it hasnt worked lol But i can completely sympathise with going overdue. I was dreading induction so the closer it got the less relaxed i was but the last day or so i have come to terms with it so have hopefully been more relaxed but it doesnt help, surely doesnt hurt though I hope LO comes for you soon!

Try a nice warm bath with bubbles and everything and even a small glass of wine or something like that. (I'm trying it tonight with wine and lemonade) with a book and stuff.

Laying down can delay labour I heard, so it's best to try and keep active and upright x
