so excited! great midwife appt!!

I feel so exciteable right now! Had growth scan yesterday and of course the doctor freaked me out! She said she was worried about big baby and I need another scan and that was it! she left the room! Anyway asked my midwife about it today and she said do not worry. She said my baby has always been on the bigger side and it's not that bad! She said she would guess baby is at 7lbs now and will be near 10 by birth. And that is going by physical examination and experience. I am a big girl anway always have been! Just broad and tall....of course I would have a big baby and daddy is big too! She also said that particular dr is always worrying about bigger babies and will try and get me to schedule a section or early induction but not to worry about it and politely say no and that the midwives will do all they can to deliver her naturally and safely just like I want.

She said our daughter is 3/5 engaged now and back to front just like she should be and that I need to get my and baby's bag packed! YAY We will all be very very surprised if we make 40 weeks but as long as she is in to 37 we are all good hopefully she stay's comfy!!! I'm super excited that everything is good and our daughter is doing so well I can't wait to meet her...in a month!! just had to share all that excitement I need a nap now haha

why are they giving you growth scans? they say it's because of my bmi but the only person that seems to be panicing is that stupid dr that I hate!

Woohoo! .... and a 10 pound baby?! Eeeek. My little one is about 5 pounds now. Hoping we only get to 7 as my consultant says I have a small pelvis and I just can't physically push out a big baby! My others were just under 7 so fingers crossed this one will follow suit! lol
Congrats on the appointment. Not many left to go now till we meet out little ones!!!!!

I'm glad that your MW was reassuring even if the consultant wasn't!

I think they normally give you a couple of growth scans if they are giving you any (I hope that made sense!) so you might well have been booked in for another one even if the results hadn't shown a big baby in the first growth scan.

I know I had one at 32+4 and am due another at 36+6 even though the baby was growing better than they hoped at the 32+4 scan.

ya it's just weird! this is my 3rd growth scan and she has been big for all of them. Actually when looking at all the scan reports she's been in the 97th percentile for ac and hc since the first scan! I think these dr's don't always give the best care because not everything is black and white like they think. I know she is just doing her job but jeez still annoying! Just glad all our babies seem to be doing so well April is a good month!

Great news Kermie. I was 3/5 engaged at my appt on Tuesday as well and fundal height measuring 4 weeks ahead (despite 4 weeks ago her weight being on 25th centile). So exciting.

Your dr sounds delightful. Not!

I'm glad you have a good midwife. xx
