Teary, tired, hormonal and pissed off: Rant (I'm sorry)

My husband is normally really great and considerate but recently he's been really preoccupied witrh work as he's going for a big promotion.

I have really tried to be supportive - not made a fuss about him working late or going on foreign business trips a week before my due date or flying up to Scotland half a week before my due date but today when I tried to call him at 715 (he had a meeting until 7 he said) to find out how he was doing, when he was going to be home and tell him that both our dogs are really quite ill his phone was switched off.

I just called again and got through to him and he was like sorry phone off as was in a meeting...WTF?? Am I being unreasonable to expect him to be contactable?

I'm sure all this is made worse by hormones and the fact that I haven't slept properly in 3 weeks.

Sorry just had to vent.

xxx

And me! But remember he is a bloke...which means that things that seem like common sense and would be something we would do automatically just don't occur to them :-)

I'd be mad aswell, you have to be able to get through to him at all times. Just explain that to him and tell him there's big trouble if you go into labour and can't get through to him, lol x

Thanks ladies. I took your advice and (in a very teary way) told him that I needed to be able to contact him in emergancies.

We agreed a plan that for any normal stuff I'd call his mobile but if it was an emergancy I'd call his blackberry which he would leave on loud so he can always hear it as I'm the only person with that number.

Thanks for your advice

xxx

my OH got a promotion too and a team and super busy now. We decided that from now on I don't call him at work, just txt and he turns the sound off when in meetings BUT he set up a ringer for me and in case of emergency this ringer doesn't go silent and whatever meeting he's in or whoever he's talking with, he will drop everything and pick up. You just need to work out a solution to call in case of emergencies. You're very close to your due date for his phone to be turned off but understand where he's coming from. Don't be upset hun, it's almost over

Really pleased that you have sorted out a plan - men really don't think sometimes! I totally feel for you - I am 3 and a half weeks behing you and I feel hormonal, tired, teary etc so I imagine it is only going to get more so!

My OH has just got a promotion too and is also preoccupied with work...so I am feeling very unloved at the moment!!

Hope your dogs get well soon!
